Arab Poetry Day

On March 21st of each year, Arab countries celebrate the Arab Poetry Day, first established in 2015.

Celebrated simultaneously with the World Poetry Day, the Arab Poetry Day is a renewed opportunity to give poetry the place it deserves in the eyes of the public, to reaffirm its role in society, to strengthen ties between Arab poets and other poets from all over the world, to highlight the universal human values that bring them together, to stimulate the sense of poetic creativity, especially among young people, and to uphold the positive values of  beauty and love in the face of the culture of exclusion and violence.

Each session of the Arab Poetry Day is dedicated to an Arab poet or a trend in Arabic poetry. It involves the organization of seminars, poetry evenings with the participation of prominent Arab poets from different generations, along with musical performances.
