H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, took part, on August 18, 2025, in the opening session of the 2025 Global Smart Education Conference. The event, held in Beijing, China, was organized in collaboration with the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE), and featured the participation of leading international and regional organizations, along with prominent experts, thinkers, and decision-makers from around the world.
In his opening remarks, the Director-General extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the organizing committee for their kind invitation. He commended the partners’ efforts to make this scientific event a global platform for constructive dialogue and for the sharing of innovative insights and experiences. He stressed that artificial intelligence offers a strategic opportunity to enhance the quality of education and expand innovation in the Arab region. He underlined the importance of investing in human capital to keep pace with rapid digital transformations.
The Director-General highlighted, in this regard, the pivotal role ALECSO plays in promoting global cooperation through its partnerships with regional and international organizations, and its contributions to the sharing of expertise and best practices in smart education—now a global reality that should be approached with a sense of positivity and openness. He indicated that ALECSO, in cooperation with Arab countries, is working to develop joint frameworks to promote the use of modern technologies in education, while drawing upon successful international experiences. This, he added, would enrich the Arab world’s contribution to global educational innovation.
