His eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb, Al-Azhar Grand Imam, received, on July 16, 2025, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO.
The Director-General expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Grand Imam for providing the opportunity of this meeting. He reviewed ALECSO’s efforts in promoting and disseminating the Arabic language and preserving the Arab identity.
For his part, the Grand Imam commended these efforts, expressing appreciation of ALECSO’s outstanding initiatives and various projects serving people across the Arab world. His Eminence affirmed Al-Azhar’s willingness to offer scholarships for a group of students to study the Arabic language at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, in coordination between ALECSO and Al-Azhar’s General Administration of Expatriate Students.
