Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, and in celebration of the International Day of Families, ALECSO organized, in collaboration with the Tunisian Organization for Education and Family, a Study Day on School Violence.
The event was held on May 16, 2025 at ALECSO headquarters in Tunis. It brought together experts in education, psychology, and childhood, and discussed the issue of school violence, with focus on its root causes and the optimum ways for its treatment and prevention, and for curbing its psychological and social impacts on children.
In his remarks at the opening session, Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of Education at ALECSO, highlighted the importance of ALECSO’s partnerships with governmental institutions and civil society organizations across the Arab world, especially in Tunisia where ALECSO is based. He specifically referred to the Cooperation Agreement signed with the Tunisian Organization for Education and Family.
Dr. Iskander emphasized the significance of the topic addressed during the Study Day—a subject that ALECSO continues to prioritize in its education-related projects. He proposed a set of solutions and programs aimed at tackling school violence, including strengthening the educational role of the family, promoting moral and religious values, and adopting a preventive and proactive approach.
For his part, Dr. Jalloul Jeribi, First Vice-President of the Tunisian Organization for Education and Family, commended ALECSO’s efforts in the field of education and its fruitful partnership with the Tunisian Organization. He highlighted their joint commitment to upgrading educational systems and finding adequate solutions to many education-related challenges.
