ALECSO participates in the Board Meeting of the  Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries

 

 

 

The annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries (59th ordinary session) was held in Baghdad, Iraq, on May 14, 2025, under the supervision of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. 

The meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Mohammed Ali Tamim, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning of Iraq; the Assistant Secretaries-General of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States; H.E. Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Head of the Office of the Secretary-General; and H.E. Ambassador Mohand Salah Ladjouzi, Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States and Director General of Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries.

The Board reviewed the agenda items, including the report of the Fund’s Director-General on activities carried out between the previous and current sessions, as well as assistance requests submitted to the Fund. The Board also approved the financial statements for 2024 and the draft budget for 2026.

The Board welcomed the proposal submitted by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, regarding the signing of a partnership agreement between ALECSO and the Fund for the implementation of projects benefiting the Comoros, Somalia, Djibouti, Sudan, and Mauritania.

ALECSO was represented at the meeting by Mr. Yahya Mansour, Director of the Administrative and Financial Department.
