Launch of 3rd edition of Arab Code Week

The third edition of the Arab Code Week (ACW), organized by ALECSO, the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, and the Tunisian Association for Educational Initiatives, kicked off on May 8, 2023, and will continue until May 15, 2023.

In his opening statement, Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of ICT Department and Executive Director of the Arab Code Week, conveyed the greetings of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, to all attendees, and his wishes for the success to this event. He highlighted the importance of the Arab Code Week, the largest Arab digital event designed to help teachers, students and all those interested in programming science to unleash their skills and capacities. He added that this event provides an exciting learning environment that helps to teach the basics of programming for all ages, especially young people. It thus offers them wide prospects to explore new disciplines, by involving them in software competitions, enhancing their scientific and educational skills, and enabling them to embrace creativity, excellence, leadership and innovation, in line with the global STEAM approach.

“Arabic Language and Digital Creativity” is the theme chosen for this edition of the Arab Code Week, which reflects the great interest that ALECSO and the ACW Management attach to preserving the Arabic language, enhancing its status, increasing its use in all fields of life, especially in modern technologies, and promoting Arabic digital content.

Opening statements were also made by Dr. Mohamed Samir Hamza, Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and supervisor of the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, and also by Ms. Widad Rezgui, President of the Tunisian Association for Educational Initiatives and General Coordinator of the Arab Code Week.
