The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization held, in Algeria on January 29, 2023, an Information Day on the Unified Arab System for Blockchain-based Certificate Authentication, in cooperation with the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique.
About 80 participants from Algerian educational institutions attended the Information Day, organized in implementation of the recommendations of the 18th Conference of Arab Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, hosted by Algeria in December 2021.
This event opened with a statement by Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, delivered on his behalf by Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of the ICT Department, in which he highlighted the role of ICT in advancing educational systems by keeping pace with new digital developments, including the Blockchain technology. In this regard, the Director-General stressed the importance of best leveraging this technology to promote the Unified Arab System for Certificate Authentication, which helps educational institutions and students verify the credibility and authenticity of their official documents.
In the same context, a training workshop was organized, on January 30, 2023, on the use of the ALECSO Certificate Authentication System, designed for the administrative and technical staff of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique, as part of the pilot experiment launched by ALECSO with some Arab countries.
