H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, paid, on January 12, 2023, a visit to the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency. He commended the significant achievements made by the Agency, under the chairmanship of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, considering it as a key arm to consolidate the cultural and civilizational identity of Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
The Director-General was briefed on the main tasks of the Agency, being an offshoot of the OIC “Al-Quds Committee”, especially in the fields of education and culture, which are also part of ALECSO’s fields of action. He indicated that ALECSO, as a house of expertise in its areas of competence, stands ready to contribute to supporting the Agency’s projects in Al-Quds and to develop a joint plan between the two institutions to prepare special programs in the field of education.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, Acting Director of the Agency, welcomed the ideas advanced by the Director-General, which could significantly contribute to strengthening the Agency’s efforts to preserve the human heritage of the Holy City and protect its identity, being a comprehensive and unifying city for the followers of the three monotheistic religions, according to the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of “Al-Quds Committee”.
