 Launch of regional consultative meeting   on digital transformation in higher education in the Arab world

 

 

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization  (ICT Department) held a consultative meeting for the conduct of a study on digital transformation in higher education in the Arab world, in partnership with the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI) (Beijing - China).

Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of ICT Department, stated that the study will serve as a guiding document in the field of digital transformation, which has now become a key requirement in education and higher education.

Education experts from Tunisia, Iraq, Algeria, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen and Mauritania took part in the meeting. 

The meeting was designed to identify needs and challenges, share expertise, experience and best practices, and explore solutions to promote digital transformation in higher education

The meeting was also an opportunity to showcase and share successful national experiences in terms of response to COVID-19 by leveraging modern technology and digital education.

Discussions addressed the importance of promoting digital transformation in higher education, with emphasis on enhancing basic digital transformation skills and strengthening the relevant infrastructure.
