H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, had a virtual meeting, on October 19, 2020, with H.E. Mr. Ismail Abdullah, Secretary-General of the Arab Theater Institute.
The meeting addressed the ways and means to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two parties, and to meet the big challenges facing theatrical arts as a result of the Covid-19 crisis and the restrictive health measures that have caused the closing of theaters and performance halls, and disrupted cultural activities, with adverse effects on the situation of theater artists.
The meeting also addressed the ways to operationalize the Arab strategy for the promotion of school theater, and to support artists, especially in Arab countries in special situations. In this context, the Director-General stressed the importance of bringing into operation the agreement concluded between ALECSO and the Arab Theater Institute.
