H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, opened the 4th scientific seminar within the 8th session of the Arab Forum for Scientific Research and Sustainable Development, organized remotely on August 27, 2020 by the Department of Science and Scientific Research under the title: “Environmental Challenges in the Arab World : A Forward-looking Vision.”
In his opening statement, Dr. Ould Amar stressed the need for providing practical solutions and proposals to advance environmental issues in the Arab world in the service of development, while playing a leading role in terms of crisis and disaster anticipation and preparedness. He looked forward to increasing cooperation with Arab scholars and researchers, in order to achieve progress and prosperity for the Arab world and for all humankind.
Prominent experts took part in this seminar. They contributed valuable ideas and strategic insights, and shared some experiences and achievements related to the environment.
This seminar was held as part of ALECSO’s efforts to shed light on some of the environmental problems that hinder the process of development in the Arab world and to identify their causes, which would help with anticipation, planning and adequate response.
