The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALESCO) strongly condemns the attempted targeting of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, which constitutes an affront to the sanctity of Islam’s holiest site and a violation of a religious and civilizational symbol that is revered by Muslims around the world.
ALECSO reaffirms its unequivocal rejection of any acts targeting holy sites or threatening the security and safety of civilians. It calls for preserving the sanctity of holy places, respecting their status, and protecting them from the risks posed by tensions and conflicts.
ALESCO also expresses its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and reaffirms its support for all efforts aimed at protecting Makkah Al-Mukarramah and the holy sites and ensuring the security and safety of all those who visit them.
ALESCO reiterates its unwavering position against any infringement upon religious sanctities or any threat to their security or to the safety of their visitors. It further calls for respecting and safeguarding the sanctity of holy places, considering this a responsibility grounded in human values and international law and conventions.
