The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) participated in the 118th session of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt, from August 30 to September 3, 2026.
H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, headed the Organization’s delegation participating in the session.
The session commenced on August 30, 2026 with expert-level meetings. The agenda addressed a range of social and development-related issues, as well as topics concerning the promotion of joint Arab action in the economic and social fields.
The meetings examined the items on the agenda in preparation for submitting their outcomes and recommendations to the Senior Officials Meeting, and subsequently to the Ministerial Meeting for consideration and adoption.
