As part of its efforts to support digital transformation and innovation in education and promote access to specialized knowledge in Arabic, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) announces that the book entitled : “Artificial Intelligence and Education in the Global South: A Systems Perspective” is now available in Arabic.

This publication comes at a time of rapid transformation in the education sector, driven by the growing development of AI technologies and the new opportunities they offer to rethink teaching and learning approaches, upgrade educational institutions, and build the capacities and skills needed to meet the demands of the future.

The book provides a systems perspective on the relationship between artificial intelligence and education systems in the countries of the Global South. It addresses a range of issues related to the application of these technologies in education, including opportunities and challenges, and the importance of creating educational environments and policies capable of harnessing the potential of AI in a responsible and effective manner.

The book also emphasizes the importance of viewing artificial intelligence not merely as a technological tool, but as a factor that can contribute to broader transformations within education systems. This calls for integrated approaches that combine technology, policies, institutions, and educational practices.

The Arabic edition was produced in collaboration with CONNECTED MENA, contributing to making this work accessible to Arabic-speaking readers, researchers, and policymakers, while promoting the dissemination and exchange of specialized knowledge in the fields of artificial intelligence and education across the Arab region.
