H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, received, on August 17, 2026, at the Organization’s headquarters, H.E. Dr. Arwa Hashim Abdel-Hassan, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the Republic of Tunisia.

The meeting offered an opportunity to review the longstanding cooperation between ALECSO and Iraq in the fields of education, culture, and science, in support of the Organization’s role in advancing joint Arab action and promoting integration among Arab countries within its areas of competence.

Both sides underscored the importance of ALECSO’s role in supporting specialized Arab institutions, exchanging expertise and knowledge, and providing greater opportunities for cooperation and communication with relevant Iraqi authorities.

The visit took place within the context of sustained engagement between ALECSO and the diplomatic missions of Arab States accredited to Tunisia, with a view to strengthening cooperation and coordination in promoting joint Arab action.
