H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, paid a visit, on August 10, 2026, to H.E. Mr. Mohamed El Hassen Boukhreiss, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Republic of Tunisia.

The Director-General congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to his new position and wished him every success in carrying out his diplomatic duties. He highlighted the close cooperation between ALECSO and Mauritania, and reaffirmed ALECSO’s commitment to further strengthening these relations in a manner that serves their shared interests and supports joint Arab action in the fields of education, culture, and science.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on a number of issues of mutual interest, and to explore future opportunities for cooperation; thereby broadening the scope of the partnership and benefiting from Mauritanian expertise in the Organization’s programs and projects.

For his part, the Ambassador thanked the Director-General for the visit, and commended ALECSO’s efforts to support knowledge and cultural development across the Arab region. He reaffirmed Mauritania’s commitment to pursuing cooperation with ALECSO and strengthening its contribution to the Organization’s programs and initiatives.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of maintaining coordination and consultation and making the most of the various opportunities available.
