H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, paid a visit to the Tunisian Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, Beït al-Hikma, on August 4, 2026. He was received by Dr. Raja Yassine Bahri, President of the Academy.
The Director-General congratulated Dr. Bahri on her appointment, wishing her every success in fulfilling her responsibilities and in advancing the Academy’s scientific and cultural mission.
During the meeting, the Director-General offered an overview of ALECSO’s mandate and its role in promoting joint Arab action in the fields of education, culture, and science. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination with Arab scientific and cultural institutions. He also commended the distinguished role of Beït al-Hikma in enriching Tunisia’s intellectual, scientific, and cultural landscape, describing it as a prestigious forum that brings together leading thinkers, scholars, and innovators from across the Arab world and beyond. He expressed his aspiration to further strengthen cooperation between ALECSO and the Academy in ways that advance their shared objectives and enhance their contribution to the promotion of knowledge and Arab culture.
For her part, Dr. Bahri expressed her sincere appreciation to the Director-General for his visit, describing it as a valuable opportunity to deepen cooperation between the two institutions. She affirmed their shared commitment to promoting knowledge, science, and culture, while contributing to the development of generations that embrace science and knowledge as key foundations for sustainable prosperity and progress.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Director-General presented the ALECSO Commemorative Shield to the President of the Academy in recognition of Beït al-Hikma’s distinguished contributions to science, culture, and knowledge. The gesture also reaffirmed ALECSO’s commitment to strengthening its partnerships with scientific and cultural institutions throughout the Arab world.
