H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, inaugurated the “Sea of Heritage” exhibition, held on 23 June 2026, at ALECSO headquarters in Tunis.
The exhibition is organized by ALECSO’s Culture Department in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Tunisia and the European Institute of the Mediterranean. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of international and regional organizations, as well as heritage and culture experts and media professionals.
The exhibition is held as part of strengthening cultural cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean and highlighting the shared maritime heritage that reflects the deep historical and civilizational ties among Mediterranean peoples and cultures. It also showcases the region’s rich and diverse cultural heritage across the ages.
The exhibition is also part of ALECSO’s efforts to highlight tangible and intangible cultural heritage and to emphasize the importance of protecting and preserving it for future generations, thereby contributing to the advancement of dialogue and cultural exchange among peoples.
