As part of its efforts to strengthen cooperation and support national initiatives in safe digital transformation and youth empowerment, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) participated in the National Forum on “Youth and Digital Transformation: Proactive Strategies to Address Cyber Challenges and Violent Extremism,” held on June 17–18, 2026, in Tunis, Tunisia, under the theme: “Towards a Shared National Awareness.” The Forum was organized by the National Youth Observatory in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Agency and the National Counterterrorism Commission.

The Forum brought together officials, experts, and representatives of relevant national institutions and organizations. ALECSO was represented by Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of ICT, alongside Eng. Zied Maazaoui and Eng. Emna Meddeb.

This participation reflects ALECSO’s ongoing commitment to supporting safe digital transformation, enhancing the capacities of Arab youth in modern technologies, and raising awareness of cyber risks, thereby contributing to the development of a responsible digital culture capable of addressing emerging challenges, particularly those related to Cybersecurity and violent extremism.

On the sidelines of the Forum, Dr. Mohamed Jemni met with the Tunisian Minister of Youth and Sports, H.E. Mr. Sadok Mourali. He conveyed the greetings of the Director-General of ALECSO, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, reaffirming his support for the Ministry’s efforts and his commitment to strengthening cooperation between the Ministry and ALECSO in areas related to youth and digital innovation.

The meeting also underscored the importance of developing joint projects and programs targeting youth, including the organization of specialized training workshops in artificial intelligence and Cybersecurity. These initiatives aim to build the capacities of Arab youth, enable them to keep pace with rapid digital transformations, and enhance their awareness of the risks and opportunities of the digital space, while encouraging them to harness modern technologies for innovation, creativity, and sustainable development.

The Forum also provided an opportunity to exchange views and expertise on developing proactive strategies that empower young people to use digital technologies in a positive and safe manner, and to strengthen their contribution to building more resilient Arab societies in the face of digital and ideological risks.
