H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, inaugurated, on May 6, 2026, the “Champions of Knowledge” event, an interactive knowledge competition aimed at children, combining learning, playing, and competition while employing AI technologies and modern interactive platforms to deliver an innovative and engaging educational experience.
The event was organized through a partnership between ALECSO’s ICT Department and the Mediterranean Childhood Association (AME), with the participation of several educational institutions. Six Tunisian schools participated in the competition held in an atmosphere combining knowledge, interaction, and team spirit.
This initiative reflects ALECSO’s interest in supporting experiences aimed at developing learning methods, enhancing the use of technology in the service of education and culture, and developing children’s skills in quick thinking, teamwork, and intelligent interaction with knowledge.
In his opening remarks, the Director-General stressed that ALECSO attaches special importance to initiatives that place the Arab child at the center of digital transformation, and turn knowledge into a dynamic, engaging, and participatory experience. He noted that educational electronic games are no longer merely a means of entertainment, but have become a significant tool for developing intelligence, fostering creativity, and strengthening pride in culture and identity. He also highlighted that ALECSO is currently working on a major strategic Arab project in the field of smart electronic games, aimed at promoting a promising Arab industry in this domain and producing educational and cultural digital content that serves children and youth across the Arab world. The project seeks to familiarize younger generations with their history, language, heritage, and values through modern, innovative approaches.
The “Champions of Knowledge” event featured interactive competitions in which children competed in teams within an AI-enhanced environment to answer cultural and knowledge-based questions displayed live before the audience. The questions covered a variety of fields, including history, landmarks, the environment, culture, geography, science, and general knowledge.
This event represents a pioneering initiative in the Arab world, offering opportunities for developing new models of learning through movement, playing, and interaction, while also enhancing motor memory, collective intelligence, and leadership spirit among children.
The Director-General concluded by thanking all those who contributed to the organization of this event, and reaffirmed ALECSO’s commitment to supporting meaningful initiatives that seek to harness technology and AI to advance education, culture, and knowledge throughout the Arab world.
