Dr. Mourad Rifi, Director of the Arabization Coordination Bureau, represented ALECSO at the National Symposium on the Protection of Natural and Biological Heritage, held on April 4, 2026. The event was organized by the Moroccan National Commission for Education, Culture and Science in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Beni Mellal–Khénifra Regional Council, and the M’Goun Geopark Administration.

The symposium brought together representatives of national bodies and institutions concerned with the protection and restoration of natural and biological ecosystems.

In his remarks, Dr. Rifi emphasized the importance that ALECSO places on safeguarding heritage and leveraging it to support sustainable development. He also highlighted the experience of the Architectural and Urban Heritage Observatory, as well as a range of initiatives and projects implemented by the Culture Department.

The symposium concluded with a set of key recommendations, including the launch of a national dialogue on cultural heritage, the establishment of a regional laboratory dedicated to geological and biological heritage, and the creation of an independent authority for parks as institutions with clearly defined mandates.
