On the sidelines of the “Kuwait, Capital of Arab Culture” celebrations, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met with H.E. Mr. Saud bin Hilal Al-Busaidi, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of the Sultanate of Oman.
The Director-General began by congratulating the Minister on his appointment, wishing him success in advancing Oman’s cultural initiatives and strengthening its presence in the Arab and regional cultural landscape.
Discussions focused on ways to further deepen institutional cooperation between ALECSO and Oman’s Ministry of Culture, particularly in heritage preservation, support for cultural and creative industries, youth empowerment, and the use of technology to serve culture—all in line with Oman’s strategic vision and the policy directions of joint Arab action.
Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding joint programs, exchanging expertise, and organizing scientific and cultural events that reinforce Arab identity and foster inter-civilizational dialogue. The Director-General commended Oman’s significant role in supporting joint Arab action and its consistent backing of ALECSO’s key initiatives.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Omani Minister presented a commemorative gift to the Director-General, in recognition of his efforts to promote Arab cultural activity and strengthen strategic partnerships between ALECSO and its Member States.
