On the sidelines of the closing ceremony of “Kuwait, Capital of Arab Culture,” ALECSO Director-General, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, held talks with H.E. Dr. Emad Hamdan, Minister of Culture of the State of Palestine. The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Arab cultural coordination and reaffirm the civilizational dimension of the Palestinian Cause.
The meeting took place in a celebratory atmosphere highlighting the place of culture as a bridge for communication and solidarity.
Both sides affirmed that the "Arab Cultural Capitals" initiative reflects the unity of the Arab cultural scene, while stressing the symbolic and civilizational significance of Al-Quds as the eternal capital of Arab culture, rooted in Arab historical, spiritual, and human heritage.
Dr. Ould Amar commended the Palestinian Culture Ministry’s role in safeguarding and documenting Palestinian cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, and in promoting its presence regionally and internationally. He reaffirmed ALECSO’s ongoing support for initiatives aimed at protecting and consolidating Palestinian cultural identity.
For his part, the Palestinian Minister expressed gratitude for ALECSO’s steadfast support of Palestinian culture and its efforts to integrate Palestine into Arab cultural programs and activities.
The meeting also explored prospects for institutional cooperation, including joint cultural initiatives, intellectual and artistic events, and greater Palestinian participation in ALECSO’s projects; thereby consolidating Arab cultural solidarity and further reinforcing the place of Al-Quds within the Arab cultural landscape.
