ALECSO organizes Third Modern Educational Thought Forum in Rabat

 

As part of ALECSO’s efforts to promote educational research and develop education policies in collaboration with Arab academic institutions, the Department of Education at ALECSO organized, on January 20-21, 2026, the third edition of the Modern Educational Thought Forum. 

The Forum was held jointly with the Moroccan National Commission for Education, Science and Culture, and in partnership with the Faculty of Education Sciences at Mohammed V University in Rabat. This edition of the Forum was themed : “Building a System of Educational Practices in Light of Knowledge Economy and Smart Transformations in Education.”

The Forum’s program featured a series of scientific presentations delivered by prominent  academics and educational experts, addressing the following topics:

  • Building a system of educational practices in light of the knowledge economy.
  • Educational policies and education on values in the digital age.
  • Rethinking education policies: toward lifelong learning pathways in the digital age.
  • Designing Arabic language programs using modern technology.

The four working sessions saw a broad participation, including faculty members from the Faculty of Education Sciences at Mohammed V University,  MA and PhD students, as well as educational staff from the Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, with a total of 80 participants.

At the conclusion of the forum, participants emphasized the need to enhance scientific production in the Arabic language in order to enrich Arabic digital content. They also highlighted the importance of integrating specialized Arab scientific journals into international indexing systems, which will help improve the quality of Arab scientific research and enhance its global visibility.
