ALECSO Director-General participates in the Launch Ceremony of the National Framework “Artificial Intelligence in the Service of the Republican School” in Nouakchott

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, tool part, on  January 20, 2026, in the launch ceremony of the National Framework : Artificial Intelligence in the Service of the Republican School.” The event was held in Nouakchott, Mauritania, under the patronage and in the presence of Mauritania’s First Lady, Dr. Mariem Mohamed Fadel Dah.

The First Lady officially launched this national initiative, and emphasized,  in her opening remarks, the importance of harnessing artificial intelligence in the service of education, thereby ensuring a modern, open, and equitable republican school capable of keeping pace with rapid technological transformations, while preserving national values and the human dimension of the educational process.

For his part, the Director-General stressed the strategic importance of using artificial intelligence as a key driver for education development.  He underscored the need to benefit from successful international experiences and to adopt scientific and ethical approaches based on building human capacities and promoting good governance, thereby ensuring the safe and effective integration of these technologies into education.

This event is part of the project of launching a national reference framework aimed at guiding the use of artificial intelligence in education and enhancing coordination among various national and international stakeholders, in line with global digital transformations and in pursuit of the goals of the republican school.

The Director-General was accompanied by Dr. Mohamed Jemni, Director of ICT Department, and Mr. Abdelhadi Ghemari, Program Coordinator at the Culture Department of Culture.

Dr. Mohamed Jemni participated in the experts’ meeting dedicated to discussing mechanisms for implementing the National Framework “Artificial Intelligence in the Service of the Republican School.” He delivered a scientific and technical presentation in which he highlighted the importance of adopting practical and gradual approaches to ensure the effective implementation of the Framework in a manner consistent with national specificities.
