The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (Education Department) organized, in collaboration with the Libyan National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, a Training Workshop on Comprehensive Care for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The workshop was held on December 29-31, 2025 at the headquarters of the National Teachers’ Union.
The workshop is part of ALECSO’s program to strengthen national efforts in the field of special education. It aims to strengthen the capacities of educational personnel, develop educational and rehabilitation practices, and promote inclusive approaches in educational institutions.
The training program involved theoretical and practical components addressing key topics, including the concepts related to autism spectrum disorder, early detection mechanisms, educational intervention strategies, psychological and social support methods, and ways of strengthening partnerships between families and educational institutions to ensure comprehensive and balanced care for individuals with ASD.
Addressing the workshop, Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of Education, conveyed the greetings of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, to all participants. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the State of Libya for hosting the workshop and for providing all conditions for its successful implementation. He stressed that the organization of this workshop reflects the high priority that ALECSO attaches to special education within its programs. He also took this opportunity to commend the active role of Libya in supporting the ALECSO’s activities and programs.
