The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) organized, on November 20, 2025 at its headquarters in Tunis, an international symposium entitled “Culture, Technology and Sports… for Inclusive Integration.” The event was held in cooperation with the Yacine Association for Children with Special Needs, with the participation of officials, experts, and representatives of relevant institutions from Tunisia and several Arab and European countries, including Italy and France.
During the symposium, participants presented scientific papers and showcased outstanding experiences in the area of inclusive integration, with a particular focus on the role of culture, sports, technology, and artificial intelligence in developing inclusive practices and enhancing the presence of children with special needs in various learning and creative spaces.
The symposium offered an opportunity to share expertise and highlight the initiatives and projects implemented by official bodies, CSOs, and specialized centers, with emphasis on the need to ensure their sustainability and leverage them to improve policies and programs targeted at children with special needs.
The symposium came out with a set of recommendations to support inclusive integration, most notably:
- Strengthening national efforts and supporting initiatives and projects led by CSOs and specialized centers in the field of inclusive integration;
- Developing policies, plans, and programs designed for training human resources working in this field;
- Promote inclusive environments to better meet the needs of children and youth with special needs;
- Learning from successful experiences in how to leverage sports, arts, digital technologies and AI tools to facilitate inclusive integration;
- Supporting scientific research and encouraging studies and field surveys in this area;
- Promoting digital entrepreneurship and reducing the gap between the opportunities offered by digital transformation and the extent to which they are actually utilized, in ways that advance inclusive integration.
