ALECSO Implements Training Program in Libya on Inclusive Education and Digital Transformation

In collaboration with the Libyan National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) implemented a training program on the professional development of early childhood educators and inclusive school teachers, as well as on the use of deep learning and AI in education.

The training program, conducted on  November 17-19,  2025 in Tripoli, State of Libya,  was aligned with the Arab, regional, and international frameworks that seek to promote the transformation of education and ensure its quality and sustainability.

The first training workshop was targeted at leaders of early childhood institutions and inclusive schools for learners with special needs. It formed part of ALECSO’s efforts to support Arab countries in achieving the targets of SDG4 and ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all. The workshop also targeted school integration personnel at the Libyan Ministry of Education, aiming to develop their knowledge and skills and enhance the capacities of teachers in inclusive classrooms.

The second workshop focused on deep learning and AI in education and aimed at strengthening participants’ abilities to use AI applications to promote inclusive education as well as to analyze data and build intelligent models.

The training program was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of Education at ALECSO, and Dr. Wissam Abdelkabeer Al-Taher, Secretary-General of the Libyan National Commission for Education, Culture and Science.

The workshops were moderated by a team of specialized experts who collaborated with ALECSO in preparing the training materials.  Around 70 participants from the Libyan Ministry of Education working in the fields of educational integration and digital learning took part in the training program.

These workshops are part of ALECSO’s efforts to enhance quality standards in educational systems and to support digital transformation in Arab countries, in alignment with national education development plans and the Sustainable Development Goals.
