The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) took part in the Meeting of the Council of Europe’s Steering Committee, held on October 27, 2025, in Lisbon, Portugal, with the participation of several representatives from Arab States.
The meeting reviewed the key outcomes of the 2022–2025 Cooperation Program, and discussed the priorities of the upcoming period as part of the “South Programme VI”, particularly in the areas of human rights and personal data protection.
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening shared values and regional cooperation between the countries of the southern Mediterranean and the Council of Europe, in support of institutional reforms and sustainable development efforts.
ALECSO was represented at this meeting by Ms. Nesrin Ghnaim, External Relations Officer. This participation is part of ALECSO’s continued efforts to enhance international cooperation in its areas of action.
