ALECSO Science Gate Tops the Agenda at the Fourth Annual Forum for Open Research

The ALECSO Science Gate took center stage at the Fourth Annual Forum for Open Research, held on October 20-23, 2025, at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

The Forum featured a keynote lecture highlighting ALECSO’s efforts in supporting scientific research across the Arab world through its specialized initiatives and programs—in particular the ALECSO Science Gate launched in 2023 as an open scientific platform connecting experts, researchers, and research institutions from the Arab region and around the world across diverse disciplines.

Dr. Mohammed Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of Science and Scientific Research at ALECSO,  delivered a lecture in which he conveyed the greetings of ALECSO’s Director-General, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, to all participants. He reviewed the key projects and initiatives undertaken by ALECSO to advance scientific research in Arab countries, which are aligned with development priorities and with global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dr. Abu Darwish presented a detailed overview of the ALECSO Science Gate—its goals and main components which align with the Arab Strategy for Scientific Research, Technology, and Innovation. He emphasized that this platform,  the first of its kind in the Arab world, is designed to promote the sharing of knowledge and to connect Arab researchers with their international counterparts. It serves as a reference database for open science and contributes to ensuring its sustainability.

Dr. Abu Darwish invited researchers and research institutions worldwide to join and register on the ALECSO Science Gate through its official website: http://alecso-science-gate.org.
