The Arabization Coordination Bureau, a subsidiary institution of ALECSO, took part in the Fourth Conference of the “King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language (KSGAAL)”, held in Saudi Arabia under the theme of : "The Global Lexicography Industry: Experiences, Efforts, and Prospects.”
Dr. Mourad Rifi, Director of the Bureau, delivered a presentation titled: “The Efforts of the Arabization Coordination Bureau in the Compiling and Publication of Dictionaries.”
Dr. Rifi highlighted the Bureau’s main achievements in the field of lexicography, including the compiling of unified scientific and terminological dictionaries, in addition to coordinating the efforts of relevant experts and institutions at the Arab and international levels. He also addressed the challenges facing the Arabization of scientific and technical terminology, and emphasized the Bureau’s pivotal role in establishing standardized linguistic and terminological references that serve professionals across various sectors.
The presentation was also an opportunity to showcase the Bureau’s rich lexicographical contributions accumulated over decades, and to explore future prospects for cooperation in the Arabization of terminology and the modernization of the lexicographic industry in line with global scientific and technological developments.
On the sidelines of the Conference, Dr. Rifi held several meetings with heads of Arabic language academies. Notably, he had a meeting with Dr. Abdullah Al-Washmi, Secretary-General of the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language, during which both sides discussed current and future cooperation between the Bureau and the Academy.
