ALECSO Director-General participates in MONDIACULT 2025

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, took part in the Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (MONDIACULT 2025), organized by UNESCO in Barcelona, Spain, from September 29 to October 1, 2025, under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Spain.

The Conference is one of the most significant global forums in its field, bringing together around 165 official delegations, along with a large number of relevant ministers, experts, and other stakeholders from around the world. It aims to place culture at the heart of global policymaking, recognizing it as a fundamental human right and a key driver of sustainable development.

The Director-General took part in the high-level ministerial session on culture, education, and peace, during which he emphasized several key priorities, including:

  • Promoting education on the values of global citizenship and peaceful coexistence;
  • Protecting tangible and intangible heritage in the Arab world and linking it to global efforts to preserve humanity’s shared memory;
  • Strengthening cultural diplomacy as a means of building bridges of dialogue and rapprochement among peoples;
  • Supporting creativity and innovation in culture, arts, and sciences.

The Director-General was accompanied by Mr. Abdelhadi Ghemari, Project Coordinator at the Culture Department.
