The Prime Minister of Lebanon, H.E. Dr. Nawaf Salam, received, on July 30, 2025, the Director-General of ALECSO, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, along with his accompanying delegation. The meeting was also attended by the Lebanese Minister of Culture, H.E. Dr. Ghassan Salamé.
This meeting took place as part of the Director-General’s official visit to Lebanon. In a statement following the meeting, Dr. Ould Amar indicated that several national and regional issues related to education, culture, and science were discussed, highlighting a mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and enhancing partnerships among Arab countries in these vital fields. He announced the launch of three new initiatives designed for Lebanon: a project focused on the environment and smart cities, another designed for startups, and a third involving the establishment of the Arab Tangible Heritage Observatory. The meeting with the Prime Minister, he added, was an opportunity to exchange views on ways of enhancing joint Arab action, with particular emphasis on prioritizing support for countries facing exceptional circumstances.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to rearrange priorities, with special focus on supporting human resources and strengthening coordination with the Lebanese National Commission.
At the conclusion of the meeting, ALECSO’s Director-General indicated that his working visit to Lebanon was successful on all levels. He noted that the projects already launched will be continued in the coming months, while also emphasizing that Lebanon will receive a significant share of ALECSO’s programs and initiatives.
