Under the directives of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) took part in the high-level international conference on “Transforming Education,” held in Moroni, Comoros, on June 30, 2025.
The Conference, convened under the high patronage of H.E. President Azali Assoumani, President of the Union of the Comoros, brought together ministers, senior officials, and experts from the Comoros, and other African countries, along with representatives from relevant international organizations.
ALECSO was represented by Dr. Rami Iskander, Director of Education, who had the honor of meeting with the President of the Comoros following the conclusion of the conference.
Addressing the Conference, Dr. Iskander conveyed the greetings of ALECSO’s Director-General, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, to the Comorian President, Government, and people, and reaffirmed ALECSO’s interest in strengthening educational cooperation with the Comoros. He indicated that ALECSO stands ready to support the Comorian government’s efforts in developing education, training teachers, promoting the teaching of Arabic, and sharing expertise in terms of digital transformation in education.
This participation came to further strengthen cooperation between ALECSO and the Comoros. It reflected the Organization’s strong engagement with Member States that are in need of special support, so that they can achieve comprehensive educational advancement and meet the Sustainable Development Goals.
