On behalf of H.E. Dr. Kamel Baddari, Algerian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Toufik Guendouzi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received, on June 23, 2025, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO.
Dr. Guendouzi welcomed the Director-General and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay in Algeria. He commended the significant role played by ALECSO in its areas of competence, and expressed appreciation of the fruitful cooperation between ALECSO and the Ministry, particularly through the Partnership Agreement signed in 2022. He expressed the Ministry’s readiness to scale up this partnership in pursuit of shared goals. He also affirmed Algeria’s readiness to receive students from Arab countries for enrollment in Algerian universities across various disciplines, and requested ALECSO to help attract Arab students to benefit from higher education opportunities in Algeria.
For his part, the Director-General of ALECSO expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, appreciating the significant level of cooperation between ALECSO and the Ministry, and commending the significant participation of Algerian experts in ALECSO’s activities. He emphasized the importance of pursuing collaboration and dialogue to support the Ministry’s initiatives—particularly in scientific research, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation across the Arab region.
Dr. Ould Amar indicated, in this regard, that ALECSO is in the final stages of preparing the ALECSO Charter on AI Ethics, which will soon be shared with Member States as part of a comprehensive scientific program.
At the end of the meeting, the Director-General granted the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research the ALECSO Honorary Shield, received on his behalf by the Secretary-General of the Ministry.
