H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, met, on October 3, 2024, with H.E. Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al-Shaibani, Minister of Education of the Sultanate of Oman, President of the Omani National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science, on the sidelines of the 3rd ICESCO Education Ministers Conference, convened in Muscat, Oman.
During the meeting, the Director-General thanked the Minister for providing this opportunity to discuss various education-related topics of mutual interest, and to benefit from the Omani expertise in this field. He called for increased participation from the Omani Ministry of Education in the Mathematics Olympiad, the Arab Code Week, and other activities and events organized by ALECSO.
For her part, the Minister thanked the Director-General for this meeting and expressed her willingness to scale up cooperation between the Ministry and ALECSO to higher levels. She indicated that the Ministry stands ready to support the efforts of several countries in promoting and disseminating the Arabic language, by providing language books and teaching curricula, as well as to receive a number of trainees to build their capacities in the field of education.
