H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Namis Al-Jubouri, Minister of Education of the Republic of Iraq, received, on April 28, 2024 in his office, H.E. Dr. Mohammed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, who was accompanied by Dr. Sami Zayoud, Mr. Abdelhak Haif, and Mrs. Sally Hattab.
The meeting discussed various issues related to education. The Director-General briefed the Minister on ALECSO’s main activities and programs implemented in cooperation with Arab countries with a view to promoting joint Arab action. He commended Iraq's continued support to the Organization.
The Director-General suggested benefiting from the Iraqi academic expertise in the work of specialized advisory committees, in the courses, workshops and ministerial conferences held by the Organization, as well as in developing educational programs. He also suggested providing support to countries with special needs, especially in terms of Arabic language education.
For his part, the Minister thanked the Director-General for this visit, stressing the Ministry’s readiness to provide support to the Organization and to make available Iraq’s wealth of expertise in the educational field.
At the end of the session, the Director-General presented the Iraqi Minister with the “ALECSO Shield”.
