ALECSO Director-General receives Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education

 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, received H.E. Dr. Amjad Barham, Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education, on September 14, 2026, at ALECSO Headquarters in Tunis.

The meeting took place on the occasion of the Minister’s participation in the Conference on “Palestinian Childhood under Israeli Occupation,” hosted by ALECSO on September 14–15, 2026. The Conference addressed issues related to the educational and cultural realities in Palestine, as well as ways to strengthen mechanisms for the protection and resilience of Palestinian children.

During the meeting, the Minister expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Director-General for his patronage of the Conference and for the significant efforts made to ensure its success. He commended ALECSO’s continuous support for the State of Palestine and its educational, cultural, and scientific institutions, noting that hosting the Conference at ALECSO headquarters is a clear illustration of this support and of ALECSO’s enduring commitment to serving the Palestinian Cause. The Minister also expressed his appreciation for the meticulous arrangements made by ALECSO, which helped create favorable conditions for the successful convening of the Conference and the achievement of its objectives.

For his part, the Director-General welcomed the Minister and his accompanying delegation, reaffirming that the Palestinian Cause will remain at the forefront of ALECSO’s priorities, in line with its pan-Arab mission and its commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, safeguarding their rights to education and culture, and preserving their identity and heritage.

The Director-General further stressed ALECSO’s determination to continue strengthening its cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and to support efforts aimed at protecting the Palestinian educational and cultural system and enabling it to address the challenges arising from current circumstances.

The meeting forms part of ALECSO’s efforts to enhance consultation and coordination with Palestinian national institutions, consolidate Arab and international efforts in support of education, culture, and science in Palestine, strengthen the resilience of the Palestinian people, and protect their legitimate rights.
