In view of the exceptional circumstances experienced by the Arab countries, resulting from the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and the imposition of partial or total lockdowns in most countries, and causing business interruption and adverse socio-economic impacts on many families, and to help mitigate the economic and social repercussions of the Covid-19 crisis, ALECSO has developed an interactive electronic platform for community solidarity.
The platform aims at facilitating the provision of aid from donors to those in need, by networking civil society organizations and institutions, and providing them with the needed tools for aid management and monitoring, thereby ensuring a best targeted aid delivery. This initiative is designed to support the efforts of civil society to combat poverty and curb its social repercussions, and thus uphold the values of cooperation, solidarity and mutual support.
The platform offers several advanced services and tools that facilitate request for, and receipt of, aid, and make sure aid is delivered quickly, efficiently, and transparently, while ensuring the protection of personal data of all those involved, and without the organization being a party to this process.
ALECSO invites all relevant civil society organizations and institutions to engage in this initiative and join the platform to provide assistance to those who deserve it in our Arab societies.
It is worth recalling that ALECSO has launched several other initiatives and contributed to many activities at the international level in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
